Space Mowgli By arkady And Boris Strugatsky

The novel describes events in 2160. the story is told by Stanislav Popov, a spaceship technician. the crew consists of 4 members - Stanislav Popov, Maya Glumova, Gennady Komov, and Yakov Vandehuze.
As the crew is working on the planet, they find a crashed spaceship with two dead bodies. But there had to be three of them, a little baby. They found that the baby (now 12 years old) had survived, but someone had changed his body, probably it was changed so the kid may live on a planet where the air temperature is -10-2 C.
The kid learned to talk 4 hours after he met humans. he wanted to know the answers to many questions. The novel ends with a conversation between Popov and the kid. Popov left one of his robots on the planet so the kid may call him every time. And after that, they spend a lot of time video-talking.
Space Mowgli was translated into English and is published as a story in Escape Attempt
